Job Summary
The Assistant Kitchen Manager supports the CDC in executing daily kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth opening and closing procedures. This role is hands-on and operationally focused, ideal for someone with strong quick-service or fast-casual food experience who understands systems, standards, and team accountability.

This is not a chef-driven role; it is a food operations-forward leadership role.
You will be joining our team prior to our opening, working alongside our Chef de Cuisine, Workforce Director, and General Manager to:

• Support in building and implement kitchen SOPs (opening/closing, food safety, prep, service flow)

• Ensure compliance with ServSafe and local health department standards
• Support daily service execution in a compact, high-efficiency environment
• Train and supervise kitchen staff under the CDC and Workforce Director

• Participate in apprentice onboarding in partnership with Workforce Development leadership

• Model professionalism, accountability, and calm leadership under pressure

• Create a culture rooted in standards, structure, and mentorship

• Join a dynamic team in a start-up based culture, taking on roles to execute a vision for a stronger, healthier tomorrow with an operationally dynamic new food service model.

Compensation Details

Compensation: $25/Hour

Required

• Experience in fast-casual or small-format, high-efficiency kitchens

• Experience working within mission-driven or community-centered organizations

• Experience training entry-level or apprentice-level staff
  
• ServSafe Managers License (or willingness to obtain)
