Role Description The Therapist, Private Practice position is a full-time, on-site role based in Oradell, NJ. The therapist will provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy, including intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing counseling sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining a caseload of clients, documenting sessions and progress notes in a timely manner, and coordinating care with other providers when appropriate. The therapist will use evidence-based interventions, monitor treatment outcomes, and adjust therapeutic strategies to meet client goals. Additional responsibilities may include participating in case consultation, engaging in continuing education, and contributing to a respectful, collaborative practice environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed or license-eligible mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist) in the state of New Jersey.
• Demonstrated experience providing individual, couples, or family therapy in an outpatient or private practice setting.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (such as CBT, DBT, EFT, or trauma-informed approaches) and ability to tailor interventions to client needs.
• Strong skills in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation consistent with legal, ethical, and insurance standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, maintain professional boundaries, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Commitment to culturally responsive care, including sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, identities, and family structures.
• Ability to manage a full-time caseload on-site, maintain punctuality, and demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Experience with electronic health records and basic computer proficiency; familiarity with insurance processes is beneficial.
• Interest in ongoing professional development, supervision or peer consultation, and contributing positively to a collaborative practice culture.
