Job description

Position: Full-Time
Experience Level: Senior

Build Your Career With a Growing CPA Firm

We are a growing CPA firm looking for an experienced Senior Auditor to join our assurance team if you have Cira audit experience its a plus but we will train also.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of audit but also wants to be part of building something. We are growing our audit practice, investing in our people and processes, and looking for team members who want more than simply completing the same engagements year after year.

As a Senior Auditor, you will take ownership of CIRA audit engagements and NFP engagements, work directly with managers and partners, help develop less-experienced staff, and have the opportunity to influence how our audit practice continues to grow. We will also have opportunities with non for profit audits as well as closely held companies.

What You'll Do

  • Perform and lead audit and assurance engagements primarily for condominium associations, homeowners associations, and other CIRAs
  • Plan engagements, perform risk assessments, and execute audit procedures in accordance with applicable professional standards
  • Prepare and review audit workpapers and financial statements
  • Identify audit issues and communicate recommendations clearly to managers, partners, and clients
  • Manage assigned engagements from planning through completion while keeping projects on schedule
  • Coordinate directly with client accounting teams, property managers, board members, and other stakeholders
  • Supervise and assist staff auditors assigned to engagements
  • Review staff work and provide practical coaching and feedback
  • Help improve audit processes, templates, workflows, and technology as our practice grows
  • Assist with other audit and assurance engagements as opportunities arise
  • Develop into a larger leadership role as the firm and audit practice continue to expand

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of public accounting audit experience
  • Prior experience performing CIRA, condominium, and/or HOA audits is a plus though we are willing to train
  • Strong understanding of audit procedures, documentation, internal controls, and financial statement preparation
  • Ability to independently manage significant portions of an audit engagement
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members
  • Comfortable working in a growing environment where processes continue to evolve and improve

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA license or actively pursuing CPA licensure
  • Experience supervising or reviewing the work of staff auditors
  • Florida CIRA audit experience
  • Experience with multiple types of audit and assurance engagements

Who Will Thrive Here

We're looking for someone who wants to grow with a firm rather than simply work for one.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Take ownership of your work and don't need to be micromanaged
  • Enjoy helping younger staff become stronger auditors
  • Want direct access to firm leadership and the opportunity to have your ideas heard
  • Appreciate high standards but don't believe "that's how we've always done it" is a good enough reason
  • Are comfortable with growth, change, and improving processes
  • Want the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the firm expands
  • Care about both doing technically strong work and providing a great client experience

Why Join Us?

We're building an audit practice with significant room for growth. That means the right Senior Auditor won't be limited to checking boxes or waiting years for someone above them to leave before they can advance.

You'll have the opportunity to work closely with firm leadership, contribute to how the department operates, mentor team members, and build toward future management and leadership opportunities.
