Opportunity Overview


Teradyne is seeking a talented, experienced Reliability Engineer to join our Memory Test Division in San Jose, California. In this role, you will partner with instrumentation, automation, system design, manufacturing, and operations teams to accelerate reliability growth through new product release and manufacturing ramp. You will help ensure products are ramp-ready by applying Teradyne's world-class Design for Reliability process, mitigating reliability risks early, driving rapid defect root-cause analysis and corrective action to accelerate product maturity, quality, and product reliability.

All About You


The successful candidate will have minimum BSEE in Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering with 5 years or more reliability engineering experience in the design and manufacturing of electrical assemblies and systems engineering. MS in Reliability Engineering or Industrial Engineering and experience in the Automated Test Equipment design (ATE) a plus.

  • Drive reliability growth from product development through qualification, release, and manufacturing ramp, with emphasis on improving product Quality for high volume manufacturing.
  • Analyze manufacturing, qualification, and field reliability data to prioritize root cause analysis, drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verify improvement effectiveness.
  • Partner with design, manufacturing, supplier quality, and operations teams to resolve reliability and quality issues, close corrective actions, and accelerate product maturity.
  • Experience reporting accelerated reliability growth (i.e.  Duane curves) to measure defect discovery and corrective action effectiveness, forecast product maturity and assess reliability process improvement effectiveness.
  • Apply FMEA, FRACAS, 8D, CAPA, SPC, DOE, Weibull analysis, and statistical problem-solving methods.
  • Proficiency with Minitab, JMP, ReliaSoft Weibull++, Excel, and Power BI to analyze reliability data, visualize trends, and communicate data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience planning and executing Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), accelerated life testing, expose design margins, identify failure mechanisms, and improve product reliability.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment and instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators) with the ability to set up tests and write test reports.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade.
  • High energy with strong presentation and training skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.

Teradyne is a major supplier of automation equipment for test and industrial applications. Teradyne Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) is used to test semiconductors, wireless products, data storage and complex electronic systems, which serve consumer, communications, industrial and government customers. Our Industrial Automation products include collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots and sensing and simulation software, used by global manufacturing and industrial customers to improve quality and increase manufacturing efficiency.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $122,500 - $196,000. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
