Maintenance Technician, Midway Oil Corporation dba TenneyBrook

Location: Rutland, VT, with regular travel between our VT and NY locations

Pay: Starting at $25/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

Position Summary

TenneyBrook is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support our 18 convenience store, gas station, and car wash locations.

This position is responsible for general building maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility upkeep. The ideal candidate has broad hands-on experience, can work independently, and is comfortable traveling between locations to respond to work orders and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

Travel between company locations to complete maintenance requests, inspections, repairs, and scheduled projects.

Troubleshoot and repair general building issues, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, locks, fixtures, and hardware.

Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and property.

Assist with basic troubleshooting and upkeep of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, car wash equipment, and other facility systems; coordinate with qualified contractors when specialized work is required.

Assemble, install, repair, and maintain furniture, shelving, equipment, fixtures, and other building components.

Maintain interior and exterior areas, including restrooms, storage areas, parking areas, and other property.

Respond to leaks, damage, unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and other maintenance needs in a timely manner.

Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and commonly used replacement parts.

Track work completed, materials used, and follow-up needs, and provide updates to location managers and management.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors and assist with estimates or contractor work when needed.

Transport and deliver maintenance supplies, equipment, parts, and larger items between the main office and company locations as needed.

Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice response and weather-related property needs.

Maintain clean work areas and follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Perform other maintenance and facility-support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities, property maintenance, construction, handyman work, or a related field preferred.

Working knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and building repair.

Ability to troubleshoot problems, use common hand and power tools safely, and complete repairs effectively.

Good judgment to recognize when work requires a licensed or specialized contractor.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple work orders across several locations.

Basic computer and smartphone skills, including email, texting, photographs, and electronic work-order systems.

Valid driver's license and safe driving record required with ability to travel regularly

Relevant trade or safety certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This is an active, hands-on position requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, climb ladders, reach, and safely use tools and equipment. Work may take place indoors and outdoors, including refrigerated, mechanical, storage, rooftop, and car wash areas, and in varying weather conditions.

Regular travel between company locations

Occasional evening, weekend, or emergency/after-hours availability may be required.
