At Ascend NPS, we are deeply committed to the mission of our nonprofit partners. We strive to deliver best-in-class service and excellence. Our IT department is a place where you can be part of something extraordinary, where your input is valued, and your voice is heard. In this role, you will help design and support tenants and networks for organizations that provide a vital safety net for our community.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft 365 and Network Administrator to manage cloud environments with some core network infrastructure. You will oversee system stability, lead migrations, and enforce high-level security standards like HIPAA. This role is ideal for a community-minded IT professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment and has a passion for technology.

Primary Responsibilities

Cloud & Systems
• Administer and manage hosted Microsoft 365 environments for diverse client agencies.

• Lead migration projects moving clients from on-premise or Google environments to M365 tenants.

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux physical and virtual server environments.

• Manage Active Directory, Azure AD, ADFS, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).

Networking & Infrastructure
• Configure and maintain VLANs, routing protocols, and switch port allocations.

• Manage wireless access points (WAPs), routers, and core network switches.

• Deploy and maintain firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), and secure VPN tunnels.

• Monitor server health and network performance to ensure maximum up time.

Security, Compliance & Stability
• Maintain HIPAA and FERPA compliant infrastructure and network security systems.

• Utilize industry tools to monitor tenants, prevent threats, and remediate security issues.

• Enforce system stability through regular updates, patch management, and backup operations.

• Create and update accurate, comprehensive system and network documentation.

Customer Service & Support
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 1 support, acting as an escalation point for service desk personnel.

• Build positive, supportive relationships with co-workers, nonprofit partners, and vendors.

• Deliver superior customer service aligned with the mission of serving others.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications
• Experience: 3+ years deploying and supporting Microsoft 365 tenant environments.

• Migrations: Proven track record of executing 5+ on-premise/Google to M365 migrations.

• Virtualization: 3+ years of experience deploying and supporting virtual server environments.

• Legacy Systems: Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2016 environments.

• Education: At least a 2-year college degree or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Compliance: Experience implementing M365 security for high-security environments (HIPAA/FERPA).

• Certifications: Microsoft Certifications preferred (MCP, MCSA, MCSE).

• Mobility: Valid Driver's License, auto insurance, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel locally.

• Legal: Must be a US Citizen or active Green Card holder.

Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate
• Mission-Driven: Fully committed to the growth of Ascend NPS and the nonprofits served.
• Collaborative: Committed to team success over individual accomplishment.
• Growth-Oriented: Energized by scaling organizations through modern technology.
• Proactive: Self-directed, innovative, organized, flexible, and focused on continuous process improvement.

Benefits
Ascend NPS offers a comprehensive employee benefit program focused on health, security, and work/life balance:
• Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
• Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
• Retirement plans with company match.
• 20 days of PTO plus 11 paid holidays.
