Job description

This position requires working in downtown DC.

Successful candidate must be able to obtain a MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) clearance.

EXPERIENCE

Two or more years working in a broadcast and or multi-mediaproduction environment.

Some higher education with Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Some or all of the following work experience may be required: 

Must have experience performing elementary production activities. Hands-on production experience in video or mixed media formats. Hands-on production experience in camera, audio and lighting set-up and operations. 

Hands-on experience with edit systems, graphics packages, computer programs. 

Experience quickly learning new software and systems. 

Experience coordinating complex schedules and multiple content elements. Experience functioning as floor director desired but not required. 

Experience working with difficult or high-level talent.

ROLE: 

This function works alongside an internal or out-of-house producerto provide support and also performs hands-on productionfunctions. May fully produce simple work product. 

Coordinates production schedule to ensure all elements for a shoot or show are in place at the appointed time. 

Researches and secures material and other content for the production. 

Scouts locations and secures necessary permits/permissions. 

Collaborates on creative treatment/show flow. 

Operates camera, computer programs, audio, lighting and other production elements ensuring all elements are operational as required by the productionschedules. 

Works at the direction of the government ensuring that sets, props and technical equipment are ready to use and in the right position; responsible for all communications with the audience and talent; cues talent and ensures timings are met. 

Hauls and sets-up equipment as necessary. 

May serve at the direction of the government to shoot live programs

Edits as required. 

Works with production team to formulate graphics or directly produces graphics. 

Teaches/trains others on elementary production principles. 

Attends planning meetings with USG officials, producers and stake holders. 

Performs promotional and marketing activities internally and externally.


Practical working knowledge of the following equipment will be crucial to your success: 

Sony ENG studio cameras and robo cameras, Sony PWX medium format camera, Blackmagic ATEM Constellation switcher, Allen & Heath Qu-32 digital console audio mixers, dmx lighting consoles, and LiveU remote streaming encoder, Nikon D810 and 850's cameras, Sony a74 and a75 cameras.
