    About the Role:
    The Manufacturing Engineer II, also known as a Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer or Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer, is responsible for optimizing production processes, improving manufacturing efficiency, and supporting precision machining operations in a regulated environment. This role focuses on process development, tooling design, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality components. Ideal candidates have strong experience in CNC machining, lean manufacturing, and aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead engineering reviews of in-process inspection results, analyze data, and drive corrective actions for quality improvements
    • Facilitate Production Readiness Reviews, ensuring accurate documentation control and manufacturing release compliance
    • Develop and maintain manufacturing routers and travelers within ERP systems to support production and quality workflows
    • Create and optimize manufacturing plans, setup sheets, and process documentation for CNC machining operations
    • Estimate manufacturing costs, establish cycle times, and recommend tooling, fixturing, and process improvements
    • Design fixtures, workholding, and tooling using CAD software such as SolidWorks to support production efficiency
    • Generate detailed 2D drawings and technical documentation to support inspection and manufacturing processes
    • Manage engineering change requests, ensuring revision control and ERP system updates for customer drawings and models
    • Define and validate manufacturing processes through blueprint interpretation, process testing, and equipment evaluation
    • Support compliance with ISO9001, AS9100, and ITAR standards by developing and maintaining procedures and documentation
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives using RCCA tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto analysis
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce scrap, improve yield, and lower manufacturing costs through lean principles
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives within the manufacturing environment
    • Serve as a technical liaison with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve product and process issues
    • Provide hands-on technical guidance and training to machinists and production personnel on new processes and best practices

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, CNC machining, or process engineering
    • At least 2 years of experience working within an AS9100 or aerospace-regulated manufacturing environment
    • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and CAM software such as Mastercam
    • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, GD&T, including ASME Y14.5 standards
    • Experience with ERP systems, production planning, and manufacturing documentation control
    • Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction methodologies
    • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
    • Strong technical writing, problem-solving, and project management skills
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, quality, and operations teams

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification, or willingness to obtain certification
    • Advanced certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
    • Certified SolidWorks Associate or Professional certification
    • Project Management Professional certification or equivalent project management experience
    • Experience in aerospace, defense, or precision machining industries
    • Advanced knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining, tooling optimization, and process validation
