Job description

About the Role

Talent Vision is partnering with a public charter school to recruit an experienced and student-centered ESL Teacher. This role focuses on supporting multilingual learners to develop English language proficiency while accessing grade-level content. The ESL Teacher will design targeted instruction, collaborate with classroom teachers, and build strong relationships with students and families to promote academic and linguistic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver small-group and whole-class ESL instruction that develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills aligned to state standards and English language proficiency standards.

  • Differentiate instruction based on students’ language proficiency levels, learning needs, and cultural backgrounds.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan lessons, embed language objectives into content instruction, and provide strategies for sheltered instruction.

  • Use a variety of assessments and student data to monitor language development, set goals, and inform instruction and progress reporting.

  • Develop and implement instructional materials, scaffolds, and accommodations to support English learners’ access to grade-level curriculum.

  • Build strong, culturally responsive relationships with students and families; communicate student progress and strategies to support language development at home.

  • Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and contribute to program compliance with district and state requirements.

  • Participate in professional development, grade-level and school-wide meetings, and collaborative instructional planning.

  • Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment that sets high expectations for all learners and celebrates multilingualism.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field preferred.

  • Valid state teaching certification in ESL/EL/TESOL or relevant endorsement preferred; willingness to pursue certification if not currently certified.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching English learners across elementary or secondary grades, employing sheltered instruction and language development strategies.

  • Strong knowledge of English language proficiency standards, formative assessment practices, and data-driven instruction.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues; culturally responsive mindset and commitment to equity.

  • Ability to differentiate instruction, manage flexible grouping, and adapt materials to varied language proficiency levels.

  • Proficiency integrating educational technology to support language learning and instruction.

  • Prior experience in multilingual or high-need school settings preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and retirement options.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth within the Talent Vision network and partner schools.
