Fire Alarm Installer Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Technician to join a growing team in West Palm Beach.

This position is heavily focused on hands-on fire alarm installation—pulling cable, installing devices, terminating wiring, mounting equipment, reading prints, testing systems, and making sure every installation is clean, organized, and code-compliant.

If you're a technician who takes pride in your craftsmanship, understands how a fire alarm system comes together from the ground up, and can work efficiently in an active construction environment, this could be a great opportunity for you.

We are also looking for qualified technicians in the Jacksonville, FL area. If you're located in or open to opportunities in Jacksonville, we encourage you to apply as well.

What You'll Be Doing

Your primary responsibility will be the installation of commercial fire alarm systems, including:

  • Install fire alarm devices, panels, power supplies, modules, notification appliances, and associated equipment.
  • Pull, route, dress, label, and secure fire alarm cable throughout commercial facilities.
  • Terminate wiring at fire alarm panels, devices, junction boxes, and other system equipment.
  • Mount and install smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, strobes, monitor/control modules, and related devices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and device layouts.
  • Perform device placement and installation according to project drawings and specifications.
  • Test wiring for continuity, shorts, grounds, opens, and other installation issues.
  • Troubleshoot wiring and device problems discovered during installation and testing.
  • Assist with system startup, testing, commissioning, and inspections.
  • Perform system modifications, additions, upgrades, and device replacements.
  • Maintain accurate labeling, redlines, and installation documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, electricians, inspectors, and other trades on active jobsites.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following OSHA and company safety requirements.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is comfortable working hands-on in the field and understands what a professional fire alarm installation should look like.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 2–5+ years of fire alarm or low-voltage installation experience.
  • Strong experience pulling, routing, and terminating low-voltage/fire alarm cable.
  • Experience installing commercial fire alarm devices and equipment.
  • Ability to read and work from construction drawings, blueprints, and riser diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of proper device placement, wiring methods, and termination practices.
  • Ability to use meters and testing equipment to identify wiring faults.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and applicable fire alarm codes.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned installations with limited supervision.
  • Experience with system programming and commissioning is a plus, but strong installation experience is the primary focus.
  • Access control, security, or CCTV installation experience is also a plus.
  • NICET certification or manufacturer-specific training is preferred.

Requirements

  • FASA/BASA certification or licensing.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening, if required.
  • Strong commitment to jobsite safety and professional workmanship.
  • Ability to work approximately Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional earlier starts or later finishes depending on project needs.

Ready for Your Next Opportunity?

If you're an experienced Fire Alarm Installer who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in delivering clean, professional installations, we'd like to speak with you.
