Housekeeping Attendant Company: Taawaki Inn Location: Clarkdale, Arizona Reports to: Housekeeper Classification: Non-exempt, Hourly, Full-time/Part-time

Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment hotel wide. This role performs a variety of cleaning tasks, supports sanitation standards, and contributes to a positive guest and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Room Servicing & Sanitation

  • Strip and make beds: Change bed linens and pillowcases daily according to hotel standards.
  • Sanitize bathrooms: Scrub and disinfect toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors, and tile floors.
  • Clean room surfaces: Dust, polish, and wipe down furniture, nightstands, desks, and electronics.
  • Floor care: Vacuum all carpeted areas and sweep or mop hard surface floors.
  • Waste removal: Empty trash bins, replace garbage liners, and discard room debris.

Amenity & Inventory Management

  • Replenish room supplies: Restock complimentary toiletries, towels, coffee/tea station items, and tissues.
  • Manage cart inventory: Organize and restock housekeeping carts with appropriate cleaning chemicals and fresh linens at the start and end of every shift.

Public Area Upkeep

  • Maintain common areas: Vacuum corridors, wipe elevator buttons, polish lobby furniture, and clean public restrooms.

Communication & Safety Protocols

  • Report maintenance issues: Immediately log broken appliances, burnt-out light bulbs, leaky faucets, or structural damage to supervisors.
  • Handle lost-and-found: Securely log and turn in any items left behind by departed guests according to hotel policy.
  • Follow safety standards: Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of chemicals and proper heavy-lifting techniques.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25–50 pounds regularly throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot small stains, dust, or misplaced items to ensure a flawless room presentation.
  • Time Management: Capacity to clean an assigned quota of rooms (typically 7–10 rooms per shift) efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Customer Service: Friendly, polite demeanor when interacting with guests in hallways or responding to special room requests.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read labels, follow written housekeeping checklists, and communicate basic updates to the team.
