Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of small engines and associated equipment. We pay better than anyone else in this field but we are going to pay you according to your competency!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and Repair: Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on both 4-Cycle and 2-Cycle engines.
  • Engine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, tune-ups, and overhauls on small engines.
  • Equipment Repair: Service and repair a diverse range of small engine-powered equipment, including but not limited to:
    • Construction Equipment (e.g., Air Compressors, Generators, Concrete Saws)
    • Lawn & Landscape Equipment (e.g., Mowers, Trimmers, Blowers, Tillers)
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently, ensuring equipment is restored to full working order.
  • Parts Management: Order, track, and manage necessary replacement parts.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
  • Customer Service: (If applicable) Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and necessary work.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience is REQUIRED: MUST have demonstrated, verifiable experience as a Small Engine Mechanic.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of engine components, fuel systems, ignition systems, and electrical troubleshooting for both 4-Cycle and 2-Cycle engines.
  • Specific Equipment Experience: Proven experience repairing and maintaining a wide range of small engine equipment, with examples such as:
    • Generators
    • Air Compressors
    • Concrete Saws and other construction equipment
    • Various types of lawn and landscape equipment
  • Skills: Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
  • Tools: Must have or be willing to acquire necessary tools for the trade.
