Job description

Day-in-the-life at TDK Components

You arrive to a neat, 5S-organized workcell. After reviewing the inspection standard instructions for the AVI appearance area, you stage tools, materials, and checklists so the process flows efficiently. As product moves through the AVI run, you conduct appearance inspections during and after sorting to confirm defect levels, working one lot at a time to avoid mixing. You record results on process sheets, charts, checklists, and directly in the Skynet database. If anything looks abnormal—or if an incident occurs—you immediately loop in the AVI Lead Operator and Production Supervisor. Throughout the shift, you use required PPE, follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for any chemicals, and keep the station clean and orderly. You collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to keep lots moving smoothly, and you pitch in on other related tasks as requested by supervision.

Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

What you’ll bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Previous production or quality experience (preferred)
  • Comfort with basic math and timing work efficiently and accurately
  • Manual dexterity with strong eye–hand coordination
  • Ability to read and understand English manuals and standards
Core responsibilities
  • Execute inspections to the defined AVI appearance standards
  • Prepare and stock the workstation for accurate, efficient flow
  • Promote smooth lot movement through teamwork and clear communication
  • Uphold 5S: maintain a neat, clean, and orderly area
  • Handle all chemicals per MSDS and wear proper PPE
  • Process one lot at a time to prevent mix-ups
  • Document data on all required forms and in the Skynet database
  • Escalate accidents or abnormalities to the AVI Lead Operator and/or Production Supervisor
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned
Compensation and benefits

The starting pay for this position is $20.02 an hour with an additional $2 an hour shift differential for nights.

TDK Components is a strong, stable organization where people build careers—not just jobs. We promote from within and offer a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, vision, dental, 401(k) matching, and a company-provided pension.
