Job description

Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, and pool systems. This role ensures a safe, compliant, and fully operational facility through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and use of CMMS systems. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in facilities maintenance, building engineering, and mechanical systems within commercial or recreational environments.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boiler, and pool systems
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation of building systems
  • Monitor and maintain water chemistry, filtration, and temperature controls for recreational pools
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including fire and life safety systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and perform emergency repairs as needed
  • Maintain detailed records of work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities within a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Support overall facility appearance and functionality to enhance member and guest experience

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to lift 20+ lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks

Education:

  • Technical or trade school certification in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems

Years of Experience:

  • 3-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or engineering

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:

  • Boiler Operator / Stationary Engineer License (state-specific)
  • EPA CFC Certification / HVAC Certification
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO)
