Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant Infant Teacher to join our growing team. This role involves supporting classroom activities and fostering a nurturing environment for young children ages 10-18 months. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children, including those with special needs or disabilities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of young children in a supportive and engaging setting. This position is Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week. A candidate must be available during our hours of operation and may have no more than one day of special scheduling requests. Full-time employees are offered PTO, including vacation, sick/personal time, and paid holidays. Other benefits include health and dental insurance. We are also partnered with TEACH RI for continuing education.


Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans.
  • This age group requires diaper changes.
  • Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Engage children in developmentally appropriate play tailored to their age and individual needs.
  • Help prepare educational materials and classroom setups that promote active learning and curiosity.
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and other daily routines to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to support children's social-emotional development and progress.
  • Assist in documenting children's developmental milestones and maintaining accurate records of classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, private school, or similar settings.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles (RIELDS) and classroom management techniques.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when needed.
  • Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
