Job Summary:

We are seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst to support clinical and operational teams through data analysis, reporting, process improvement, and technology-enabled solutions. This role will partner directly with business and clinical leaders to understand operational needs, evaluate program performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop reporting and workflow solutions that support informed decision-making.

This position will work with healthcare data including claims, clinical, financial, pharmacy, and program performance data to identify trends, evaluate key performance indicators, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. The role will also support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, Power Automate workflows, reporting tools, and other solutions designed to improve operational efficiency and program performance.

The ideal candidate can effectively bridge data, technology, and business operations; someone who is comfortable digging into complex data, understanding the operational story behind it, and partnering with stakeholders to implement practical solutions.

We are seeking an individual who is driven and self-motivated with a high level of professionalism, a passion for innovation, and a business style that is scrappy, strategic, creative, team-oriented, hands-on, and collaborative.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with clinical, operational, and business leaders to evaluate programs, identify opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Collect, organize, validate, and analyze healthcare data, including claims, EHR, financial, pharmacy, operational, and clinical program data.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and performance tracking tools for clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Develop and support Power Automate workflows and Power Platform solutions that streamline reporting, data collection, tracking, and manual processes.
  • Translate business needs and operational challenges into reporting, analytics, workflow, and technology solutions.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and large healthcare datasets to identify trends, risks, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present analyses, dashboards, and recommendations that translate complex data into a clear story and actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Support clinical and operational program evaluation, including research, stakeholder interviews, workflow assessment, process mapping, and performance analysis.
  • Partner with program and business owners to design and implement operational and process improvements based on analytical findings.
  • Develop and maintain reporting datasets, documentation, data dictionaries, trackers, and other tools to promote data quality, transparency, and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or improve existing business processes using Power Platform, SharePoint, Excel, SQL, or other available technologies.
  • Support adoption of dashboards, reports, and automated workflows through stakeholder education, training, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Document processes, solutions, and best practices to create repeatable and scalable programs, reporting capabilities, and operational tools.
  • Collaborate with the Summit Consulting Team to develop and deliver meaningful insights, solutions, and recommendations for our partners.
  • Contribute to Summit's culture of delivering value at every partner interaction

What You’ll Need:

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, business intelligence, business analysis, operations, process improvement, or a related role.
  • Experience working with healthcare data and/or supporting healthcare clinical or operational teams strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience interpreting complex datasets, identifying trends, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehouses, and data structures.
  • Experience with SQL required; Oracle, Power Automate, Power Platform, or other workflow/process automation experience preferred.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI or comparable business intelligence/data visualization tools.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with multi-source datasets.
  • Strong process improvement mindset with an ability to identify operational inefficiencies and develop practical solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex information / business requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences (clinical, operational, and/or senior leadership stakeholders).
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving, and collaborative consulting environment.
  • Ability to be onsite with partners in Indianapolis as needed.
