Job description

Summary/Objective
The Federal Instructional Paraprofessional works as a teacher's aide, assisting with lessondelivery, managing materials, supporting behavior management, and tutoring individuals or groups of children

Essential Functions
Under the supervision of a properly licensed teacher, the Paraprofessional willimplement and evaluate lessons planned by that teacher.
Tutor individual students as needed.
Teach social skills/social thinking and model appropriate behaviors for students.
Report dangerous behaviors/environments to school director or administration.
Report any suspicion of child abuse and neglect through proper channels.
Provide instructor with input regarding student behavior, academic performance andIEP progress.
Proctor during student assessment.
Participate in appropriate staff development activities to provide for professionalgrowth.

Required Education/Experience
Ohio Educational Aide permit with the ESEA qualified endorsement (or have therequirements necessary to obtain one)
Two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester or 72 quarterhours), an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution of highereducation, or passing the ParaPro Assessment
Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification andInvestigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation
