Job description

The Opportunity

The Morpheus Clinic for Hypnosis is an established Toronto practice founded in 2006. We provide practical, results-oriented hypnosis services to an intelligent and discerning clientele.

We are looking for an unusually capable recent graduate or early-career professional to become a central part of our clinic’s daily operations.

This is not simply a reception or administrative position. It is a broad early-career role combining client intake, consultative sales, scheduling, administration, marketing support, and operational problem-solving.

You do not need extensive professional experience. You do need maturity, excellent communication, commercial common sense, strong follow-through, and a serious attitude toward work.

For the right person, this role offers a broader professional education than most entry-level jobs. You will work closely with the people running an established practice and learn how client psychology, sales, marketing, service standards, operations, and commercial decision-making fit together.

You will be given meaningful responsibility early. As you demonstrate sound judgment and reliability, you will earn greater autonomy and the opportunity to take ownership of larger parts of the business.

What You Will Do

Client Intake and Consultative Sales

You will often be the first person a prospective client speaks with.

You will respond to inquiries, conduct structured intake conversations, understand what the prospective client wants to change, determine whether our services are appropriate, explain the available options, discuss pricing, and guide the person toward a clear next step.

This is not aggressive sales. It requires listening carefully, thinking clearly, communicating value, and helping people make sensible decisions.

Client Communication and Follow-Through

You will manage appointment confirmations, follow-ups, payments, and ongoing client communication.

You should understand that sending one email is not always the completion of a task. Following up, confirming the outcome, updating the record, and closing the loop are also part of the work.

Clinic Operations

You will help manage the schedule, inbox, client records, supplies, reception area, and the many details required to keep the clinic operating smoothly.

You should naturally notice unanswered inquiries, scheduling conflicts, incomplete records, overflowing garbage bins and other problems before someone has to point them out.

Marketing Support

You will assist with short-form video posting, online listings, events, and other practical marketing activities.

You do not need to appear on camera. You do need to be comfortable learning digital tools, following brand standards, and understanding how marketing contributes to business results.

How We Work

We operate with high standards, direct communication, and relatively little bureaucracy.

Expectations are stated clearly. Feedback is specific and intended to improve the work. Problems are discussed openly rather than communicated through hints, subtext, or office politics.

Our leadership style is analytical, literal, and systems-oriented. We care about what is true, what works, and what produces a better result.

You will be treated as an adult and expected to behave like one: arrive on time, keep commitments, acknowledge mistakes, ask intelligent questions, raise problems early, and complete tasks without repeated reminders.

We do not expect perfection. We do expect honesty, conscientiousness, and visible improvement.

Who We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate may be a recent graduate in philosophy, psychology, history, literature, political science, communications, business, or another intellectually demanding field.

A liberal arts background is particularly welcome when accompanied by practical judgment and commercial awareness.

You are likely to succeed here if:

  • You write clearly, correctly, and precisely.
  • You care about grammar and the meaning of words.
  • You are intellectually curious and read beyond what is required of you.
  • You are punctual, organized, and highly dependable.
  • You understand that follow-up is part of completing a task.
  • You remain calm and professional with anxious or demanding clients.
  • You are comfortable discussing money and recommending services.
  • You can perform routine work without treating it as beneath you.
  • You accept direct feedback without becoming defensive.
  • You notice problems and take reasonable action without waiting to be told.
  • You want to understand how an entire business works.

Professional experience is helpful, but it is not our primary selection criterion. We would rather hire a serious and capable new graduate than an experienced applicant with weak writing, poor judgment, or inconsistent work habits.

Long-Term Potential

We hope to hire someone who can remain with the clinic for several years, become increasingly capable, and take responsibility for larger areas of the business.

Advancement will depend on demonstrated judgment, reliability, initiative, and commercial contribution. For an exceptional long-term fit, the role could eventually develop into senior operational leadership or another form of deeper involvement in the clinic.

Nothing is guaranteed. The opportunity grows as your contribution grows.

Schedule

  • Full-time, regular hours
  • Workweek spread across four or five days
  • Mandatory Saturday shift
  • In-person work in downtown Toronto

How to Apply

Please include:

  • Your resume.
  • A short cover letter, addressed to Luke, explaining why this particular role appeals to you.
  • An unofficial academic transcript or authentic writing sample is optional but encouraged, particularly for recent graduates.

AI-assisted applications are acceptable, provided that you have personally reviewed the writing and can discuss every claim in an interview. Generic applications will not be competitive.

Please do not otherwise call or visit the clinic without an invitation.
