We are seeking a High School Orton-Gillingham Tutor to provide specialized literacy support for neurodivergent students, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, and other learning differences. This individual tutor will work closely with students on a regular weekly basis, focusing on individualized instruction that integrates social and emotional learning to empower students in their academic journey.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, strengths-based literacy interventions using the Orton-Gillingham method.
• Support students in setting and achieving academic and personal literacy goals.
• Monitor and document student progress to inform instruction adjustments.
• Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and support staff to coordinate student support plans.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student self-advocacy and resilience.
• Incorporate social and emotional learning strategies alongside literacy instruction.
• Maintain limited local travel to meet with students and coordinate supports as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
• Certification or training in the Orton-Gillingham method.
• 5+ years’ experience supporting neurodivergent K-12 students.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in special education settings.
• 5+ years specifically in neurodivergent student support roles.
