Street Hope TN (SHTN) works to eliminate the sexual exploitation and trafficking of

children in Tennessee and provide safe environments that foster hope and healing through

Jesus Christ.

Hours: Part Time / Full Time

Location: Powell, TN

Organizational Relationships: Reports to Director of Development

Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Position Summary

The Community Engagement Specialist is a valued member of the Development Team,

helping connect our community to the mission of Street Hope. Working alongside the

Director of Development, Communications Manager, and other staff, this position

coordinates fundraising and community events, recruits and supports volunteers, cultivates

meaningful relationships in our community, and helps create opportunities for others to

join our work and our mission.

Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordination

In collaboration with the Development and Communications teams, serve as a

welcoming point of connection for community members seeking to engage with Street

Hope.

Under the direction of our Communications Manager, produce creative content for our

social media channels, including copy editing and photography when needed.

Working with Executive Director and Development Director to coordinate requests for

speaking engagements and community representation.

Recruit, onboard, manage, and encourage volunteers through both online and in-person

engagement.

Coordinate volunteer scheduling and assignments for ministry initiatives and events.

Cultivate meaningful relationships with churches, businesses, civic organizations, and

community partners while collaborating with staff to strengthen those partnerships.

Support community-led fundraising efforts by providing guidance, encouragement, and

excellent follow-through.

Prepare materials and logistics for outreach opportunities that reflect the mission and

values of Street Hope.

Communicate giving opportunities clearly while helping supporters identify meaningful

ways to partner with the ministry.

Event Coordination, Planning & Execution

Street Hope events are a team effort often project managed by the Community Engagement

Specialist. This role works alongside staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partners to

create experiences that inspire others to engage with our mission. Our annual events

include Hope Will Rise (our signature dinner), Rise and Restore (our breakfast fundraiser)

and Treese of Hope.

Responsibilities Include:

Coordinate event timelines, vendors, volunteers, and logistics.

Help create an excellent experience for guests, sponsors, volunteers, and staff.

Manage event budgets responsibly and seek nonprofit pricing whenever possible.

Support sponsorship fulfillment in partnership with the Director of Development.

Anticipate challenges and provide thoughtful solutions throughout the planning

process.

Collaborate across departments before, during, and after each event.

Donor Relations & Development Support

Partner with the Director of Development to cultivate relationships with donors,

churches, foundations, and corporate partners.

Collaborate with the Development Team to provide thoughtful stewardship and

exceptional donor care.

Coordinate donor meetings and follow-up communications.

Conduct prospect research for new donors, churches, corporate partners, and grant

opportunities.

Assist with grant research, application tracking, and reporting requirements.

Coordinate donor stewardship initiatives including welcome packets, impact reports,

gratitude campaigns, and appreciation mailings.

Process and record in-kind gifts and donor interactions in the donor management

system.

Maintain confidentiality of donor and client information.

Communications Support

Work alongside the Communications Manager to execute the schedule for social media

among various channels in cooperation with team.

Assist with content creation, photography, and copywriting as needed.

Coordinate social media scheduling for development initiatives and events.

Ensure communications consistently reflect the mission, voice, and values of Street

Hope.

Administration

Partner with the Development Team to implement annual fundraising initiatives.

Maintain accurate donor records and document interactions in the donor management

system.

Prepare reports and metrics for leadership as requested.

Contribute to a positive, unified team culture by communicating openly, supporting

colleagues, and celebrating shared successes.

Attend community events, committee meetings, and staff meetings as requested.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Three to five years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, event

management, sales, marketing, or business development preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning donor management software.
