Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality counseling services, including conducting initial assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Engaging with clients through individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques to ensure effective outcomes.
• Maintaining complete and accurate documentation of all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress updates in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to each client’s care and adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
• Actively participating in team meetings and trainings, advocating for continuous improvement in service delivery and client engagement methods.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will focus primarily on children and adolescents struggling with a variety of mental health challenges. Our clinic addresses complex conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and autism. You will have the opportunity to implement individualized strategies that foster resilience, self-awareness, and emotional regulation in our youth clients, enhancing their ability to navigate life's challenges.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is required.
• An active license as a mental health counselor in the state of New York.
• At least two years of direct experience in providing mental health counseling services, preferably within outpatient settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
• A solid understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
• The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and related technology.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging treatment materials and resources tailored to young clients.
• A background in managing interdisciplinary care teams is an asset.
