Position Summary:

This is a temporary position to develop the skills of a student enrolled in a high school technical trade program, and to evaluate their potential for future opportunity at Straumann. Straumann runs a world class shop and supports training and teaching of students. This is a great opportunity for the right student.

Major Responsibilities of the Position:

• Prepare daily micro-sections samples for production
• Operate manual machines including engine lathes and milling machines
• Operate CNC machinery with assistance of a Machinist to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to include SPC part inspection
• Follow procedures and quality requirements
• Clean and maintain machines.
• As assigned by management

Physical Attributes:

Utilize eyesight and manual dexterity to work with small parts and hold tight tolerances.

General manufacturing environment.

Will be exposed to conditions associated with manufacturing equipment and tools

Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Enrolled in a High School Technical/Trade machinist program

Preferred Qualifications:

A mechanical aptitude and a commitment to learn, as well as to adopt good work habits.

Attention to fine detail and high quality.

A high standard of professional conduct

Hard work ethic

Punctual attendance

Salary: $18.50/hour. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
