**Short Term Contract**

Position: Welding & Fabrication Technician

Location: Long Beach, CA

Engagement: 1 month initial contract to support a current manufacturing surge. Strong potential of extension or contract to hire.

Strativ are currently recruiting for an industry-leading defense and space tech company at their facility in Long Beach, CA. They are actively building next-generation orbital habitats and mission-critical hardware and need skilled technicians who can take tooling from print to practical application, perform FCAW and work directly alongside engineering to solve hardware challenges.

Job Requirements

• Ability to quickly fabricate, weld tooling to support tooling development
• Inspect fabricated parts for geometry acceptance and weld conformance
• Fit, form parts, and clean parts as required and setup welding equipment in preparation for welding
• Perform flux core on steel parts
• Diagnose weld defects and suggest corrective actions, both in repair and process optimization
• Work with Engineering to improve tools and problem solve
• Material handling of raw goods and finished weldments
• Experience with a wide variety of metal fabrication equipment such as vertical bandsaw, Sanding equipment, Capability to efficiently set up jig tables.
