Job Description:

The Server Administrator's role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of virtualization hosts, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Server Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Provide Administration of Windows and Linux Servers and the supporting applications.

· Provide Administration of Active Directory Services, Microsoft Cloud Strategies including Azure, O365, SharePoint, One Drive.

· Provide Administration of VMware Infrastructure.

· Provide Administration of SAN/NAS Technologies.

· Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and achieving to ensure effective protection and integrity of organizational data and assets.

· Plan, develop and integrate security, DLP policies and procedures.

· Work closely with department staff in supporting end user devices, such as laptops, barcode printers, scanners, mobile devices.

· Work closely with department staff in supporting production activities that integrate and ride across server infrastructure.

· Lead, coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server environment.

· Act as project lead in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware; conduct capacity planning as needed.

· Develop strategies for client/server implementations; architect the infrastructure required to support those strategies.

· Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure server security.

· Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems, software, and storage in conjunction with technical services team members.

· Establish appropriate end-user access control levels for stored data.

· Willingness and ability to support company after hours, such as production down, shipment impacting issues, upgrades and maintenance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· At least six years' equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing server environments.

· Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment.

· Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.

· Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements for this office role include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, typically up to 8 hours a day, and regularly operating standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Employees should be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally and frequently perform tasks that require typing, writing, and document handling. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with adequate visual and auditory abilities to read materials and participate in meetings.
