Job description

Low Voltage Data Cabling Technician — Night Shift

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (on-site, 24/7 data center)

Pay Rate: Approximately $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience

Schedule: Night shift, either 5x8s (Sunday 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM through Friday morning) or 4x10s. Dedicated overnight coverage in a 24/7 data center environment.

About the Role

My client is looking for a Low Voltage Data Cabling Technician to join a night shift crew installing structured cabling inside a live, 24/7 data center. This is hands-on field work: pulling and terminating copper and fiber, labeling installed cable runs to spec, and working directly against customer-generated tickets and end users on-site.

Core Responsibilities

  • Install preterminated Category 6 copper patch cords
  • Install preterminated fiber optic patch cords and fiber trunk cables
  • Print and install labels for all installed cabling per customer standards
  • Work customer-generated tickets through the client's ticketing system to fulfill work requests
  • Interface directly with the customer and the customer's end users during shift

Requirements

  • Prior experience installing low voltage cabling (copper and fiber optic)
  • Comfortable working full-time night shift hours in a live, mission-critical data center
  • Able to work independently while following documented labeling and cabling standards
  • Comfortable interfacing with customers and end users in a professional, client-facing setting
  • Experience working within a ticketing system to manage and close out work orders is a plus

Work Environment

Fast-paced, structured, client-facing 24/7 data center. Work is ticket-driven and requires attention to detail, since cabling and labeling accuracy directly affect uptime and customer operations.

Schedule Detail

  • 5x8 option: Sunday 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM through Monday, five nights per week, finishing Friday morning
  • 4x10 option: four nights per week at 10 hours per shift
