Job description

Intellectual Property Patent Associate

We are looking for an Intellectual Property Patent Associate with 4-6 years of experience to join our clients, a reputable national AmLaw Firm, growing IP practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically-minded patent attorney to work across a diverse client base of 30,000+ clients nationwide, with strong support from a collaborative national platform.

What will you be doing?

  • Drafting and prosecuting U.S. provisional, utility, and international patent applications
  • Preparing patentability opinions for clients in the mechanical engineering space
  • Strategically planning and maintaining patent portfolios
  • Working on matters involving machines and mechanical inventions
  • Collaborating with a national IP team across multiple offices

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (non-negotiable - the team is very adamant on this)
  • 4-6 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience
  • USPTO registration required
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and bar license in the state of the applicable office

Salary:

$215K - $270K

Boston, Pittsburgh, DC, NY, and Princeton, NJ
