About the role
Stellar Synergy is recruiting a general manager, trades staffing, for a growing commercial construction labor staffing company in Miami. Our client places skilled tradespeople, drywall, concrete, carpentry, and general commercial trades on commercial and federal projects across multiple markets and is scaling toward a field workforce of a thousand active trade workers. We're hiring a general manager to run the operation: the recruiting engine, the field coordination team, and the field workforce.
This is not a training role. Our client is looking for someone who has already run this: operations and recruiting inside a trades or construction labor staffing company or internal recruitment and field operations for a self-performing general contractor. You know how this business runs because you've run it.
What you will own
• Day-to-day operations of the staffing business, end to end: recruiting, field coordination, deployment, retention
• A team of recruiters and field coordinators, with clear hiring, coaching, and accountability standards
• Fill rate performance and time-to-deploy across the trades
• Workforce time and attendance system adoption and compliance
• Safety compliance across the field workforce
• Scaling the operation toward a workforce of a thousand, and supporting new markets and divisions as our client expands
Non-negotiables
• Direct experience in a construction or trades labor staffing company OR internal recruitment and operations for a self-performing general contractor. Trades experience is required.
• Fluent Spanish. This is a bilingual role.
• A track record of hitting fill rate, retention, or workforce growth numbers you can speak to specifically in an interview
Preferred
• Experience scaling a staffing operation across more than one market
• Familiarity with electrical/MEP trades staffing
• Familiarity with field workforce systems: time tracking, onboarding, and compliance
Location and travel
Based in the Miami office, on-site. Travel of roughly 10–20% to support other markets and expanding divisions.
