New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS. You must be a new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive.\r\nReferral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current DHSS employees who refer new hires to the state in the following classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant. Referral bonuses of $1,000 will be paid in quarterly installments over the first year of hire of the referred applicant.\r\nNOTE: This program is administered by the Department of Health and Social Services. The program may be terminated by the State at any time.\r\n

Summary Statement

The incumbent provides nursing services including, but not limited to, direct nursing care, follow up assessments, implementing nursing care plans, and coordination of health care services for the residents. The incumbent will clinically supervise and evaluate the care and treatment provided to the residents by the certified nursing assistants and assist CNAs in care and treatments. In addition, the incumbent will have regular contact with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, dietary, pharmacy, administration, and other ancillary departments of the facility.\r\n

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n Administers treatments as directed.\r\n Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).\r\n Pours, administers, charts and records medications.\r\n Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.\r\n Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.\r\n Records information on patients' charts.\r\n \r\n\r\n

JOB REQUIREMENTS forLicensed Practical Nurse I\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n\r\n Possession of a Delaware Practical Nurse license, Delaware temporary license ormulti-state compact license.\r\n\r\nJOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse II\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n\r\n Possession of a Delaware Practical Nursing license or multi-state compact license.\r\n At least six months experience as a Practical Nurse.\r\n\r\nJOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse III\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n Possession of a Delaware Practical Nursing license or multi-state compact license.\r\n At least eighteen months experience as a Practical Nurse.\r\n\r\n

Conditions of Hire

All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.\r\n\r\nA satisfactory criminal background check is required and must be covered by the applicant, with an estimated cost of $85.00. Pre-employment drug testing is also required. Additionally, all new hires are required to complete a 2-Step TB/PPD test, which will be administered on their first day at the facility. \r\n\r\nThis position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.\r\n\r\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
