Job description

State Contracting, LLC. a local utility, and grading company in the construction services industry is seeking an asphalt, Foreman. State has been serving the greater Raleigh area for almost 20 years!

As part of our efforts to provide high quality products and exceptional service, State Contracting is looking to bring on board an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman. The Paving Foreman will be responsible to manage multiple road construction projects in and around the Wake County area. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience working in a superintendent role within a fast-paced organization.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and coordinating entire project start to finish
  • On site instruction to subordinate employees
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to secure manpower, materials, equipment and site logistics
  • General inspection of workers, performance and safety
  • Ensure both the health and safety project plans are implemented
  • Effectively manage job site challenges such as weather conditions or emergencies
  • Responsible for quality control
  • Understand project scope and follow accordingly.
  • Recognize additional work for Change Orders.
  • Verify and sign off on daily quantities (materials/subcontractors/trucking/etc.) and timesheets provided by foremen

Knowledge and Experience

  • Must have superintendent experience in roadway and on-site paving experience.
  • Knowledge of heavy construction equipment and operation of the equipment.
  • Industry Standards and Specifications for various types of Road and Footway Construction
  • Experience in daily, weekly and monthly field documentation of construction activities and field personnel management
  • Project control and management
