Starts Align is partnered with a well-established Long Island law firm seeking a Paralegal to join its growing Condominium, Cooperative & Homeowners Association practice in East Meadow, NY.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented paralegal who is interested in developing specialized experience within condo, co-op, HOA and real estate law.

The firm is open to candidates with 1–3 years of paralegal experience, particularly those with exposure to real estate, real estate transactions or regulatory agencies. They are also willing to train a motivated candidate with a Paralegal Certificate and limited or no prior experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct administrative and paralegal support to a Partner within the Condo/Co-op/HOA practice

  • Open, organize and maintain client and matter files

  • Draft and revise correspondence and legal documents

  • Conduct initial reviews of client files and identify relevant documentation

  • Prepare document binders and required materials for submission to the New York State Attorney General's Office

  • Prepare and organize materials for delivery to clients

  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating mediations, meetings and conference calls

  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, administrative agencies and other parties

  • Process monthly client invoices and assist with billing administration

  • Enter and maintain information within the firm's billing and document systems

  • Provide additional support to attorneys and the practice group as needed

Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of paralegal experience preferred

  • Experience with general real estate, real estate transactions or regulatory agencies is a plus

  • Candidates with a Paralegal Certificate and no prior experience may be considered and trained

  • Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable interacting with clients, attorneys and administrative agencies

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Willingness to work occasional overtime when necessary

  • Strong desire to learn and grow within the practice
