Job description

The Helping Hands Program Coordinator manages holiday assistance operations for Stanly Community Christian Ministry by overseeing toy and Senior gift collections, recruiting and training volunteers, and coordinating client registration and distribution.


Core Responsibilities

  • Program management: Oversees daily operations of the Helping Hands holiday initiative, tracking statistics and preparing reports. 
  • Volunteer coordination: Recruits, trains, and schedules volunteers to staff collection sites, malls, and distribution centers. 
  • Logistics and warehouse operations: Unloads trucks, lifts and stacks donated items, organizes inventory, and maintains a clean warehouse or Christmas Center.
  • Plans and coordinates distribution events, including Seniors' distribution, Bike distribution, and the shopping day for parents.
  • Client and donor relations: Greets and assists donors, processes client intake information, and schedules assistance appointments while maintaining privacy. 
  • Driving and transport: Operates organizational vehicles safely to pick up donations from drop-off sites. 

Job Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Generally, two years of experience in inventory handling and administrative client services.
  • Licensing: A valid state driver's license and the ability to meet organizational vehicle insurance standards.
  • Physical skills: Ability to lift items over 25 lbs, stand for long periods on concrete floors, and work in seasonal warehouse environments. 

Notes

This is a seasonal position typically from mid-August through December 25th.
