Job description

The YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Soccer For Succes Coach to lead our youth soccer program. This role involves coaching and refereeing for children aged 3-8. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a solid understanding of soccer fundamentals. The coach will be responsible for both teaching soccer skills and facilitating games, creating an engaging and supportive environment for all participants.
Location: Huntington YMCA
Shifts:  
  • Saturdays: 9:15 am - 12:00 pm  
 
Session Dates:
  • Summer Sessions


Responsibilities:
  • Instruct and coach children on soccer fundamentals, including skills and drills.
  • Referee games, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules.
  • Session Structure: Begin each session with a brief lesson on drills, followed by facilitating gameplay among participants.
  • Adapt to a schedule that may change based on enrollment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.



Qualifications
  • Previous experience in soccer coaching, particularly with young children.
  • Familiarity with soccer rules and ability to referee games.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work Sunday mornings and early afternoons consistently.
  • Commitment to the entire duration of the Fall session
