Job Title: Director, Adult Day Services
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Job Status: Full-time/Exempt
Supervises: Social Worker, Intake Coordinator, CNAs, PCWs, Nurses, Activity Coordinator, and Administrator Assistant

Position Summary:
The Director of Adult Care oversees the functions from the clients to the Certified Nursing Assistants and Personal Care Workers. The Director of Adult Care Services is responsible for adhering to standards and recommend changes in policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct programs for staff and clients in accord with state, federal and local standards as well as those policies and procedures established by St. Ann Center, to assure that the spiritual, emotional, recreational and social needs of the staff and client are met and maintained.
Meet with the Adult Day Care staff weekly to update and/or evaluate program related activities.
Meet with the St. Ann Administrative staff for overall coordination and communication of program.
Supervise implementation of any nursing order(s) as directed by appropriate personnel.
Supervise the Activity Coordinator, and the implementation of schedule activities and activity budget.
Complete necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit them to the COO
Supervise and work in collaboration with St. Ann Center Staff Social Workers in client case management and family and/or caregiver needs.
Direct and participate as needed in the Individual Service Plan of Care for clients at weekly staffing.
Develop and participate in regularly scheduled orientation and in-service training programs.
Review complaints and grievances from staff; make necessary oral and written reports to the COO.
Assist the COO in developing the Adult Day Care budget and monitor expenditures. Recommend to the COO any new equipment and supply needs that exceed the budget.
Assist the COO and V.P of Intergenerational Activities in reviewing activity programs, policies and procedures. Continue to develop job descriptions for the persons supervised; and communicate making recommended changes to the COO.
Assist with implementation and supervision of student programs.
Request and follow-up on requisitions of volunteer help for the Day Care unit with the Volunteer Coordinator.
Develop and direct Personal Hygiene Program for Day Care and Ala Carte clients.
Enter monthly Operations Report
Enter weekly time keeping for staff
Marginal Functions:
Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the COO.
Participate in remodeling and/or expansion projects.
Attend and participate in professional organizations such as W.I.N. and W.A.D.S.A. and continuing Educational programs and follow-up presentations to the staff.
Education/Training:
License or Degree in Human Services Related Field
Qualifications/Requirements
  • The program director of an ADCC shall be at least 21 years of age and have the capacity to respond to the needs of each participant and manage the day-to-day operations of the ADCC.
  • The program director shall have at least one of the following qualifications: a. An associate degree or higher from an accredited college in a health care related field. b. At least 2 years' experience working in a health care related field which served a population similar to the participant group at the ADCC.
  • License or Degree in Human Services or Related Field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help people
  • Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
