Job description

The HR Lead for the Americas will be in our New York Office, and will oversee all our offices in Canada, the US and South America. The role will work closely with senior leadership in these offices and will be part of the global HR team. This role will be reporting to the CHRO and is responsible for acting as an advisor to leaders and staff, will be an advocate for employees and will help execute global projects and talent management initiatives.

Position Overview:

  • Manage a team of two who execute the day-to-day activities in the region.
  • Lead all people matters in regions working with leaders to navigate complex issues.
  • Proactively address employee relations issues and provide guidance on how to manage them, ensuring consistency in approach and mitigating risks for the firm.
  • Oversee all the onboarding and off boarding activities for employees to ensure consistency across the region and globally.
  • Leverage tools to provide metrics and reporting that will help drive people decisions such as engagement metrics and turnover metrics.
  • Collaborate with global HR leadership team members across regions to ensure consistency in approach to all processes.
  • People Development - help leaders identify gaps in skills for team members, and work with leaders to create a plan to address.
  • Work with the internal mobility team and the recruiting team - evaluating immigration status of candidates and then with handoff of candidates once hired.
  • Support the payroll process for regions, working closely with the global payroll team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of HR experience; preferably in financial services.
  • Analytical reasoning and solution-focused problem solver with the ability to think critically and independently.
  • Ability to drive results, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Innovative in approaching situations and responsible to be an advocate for change.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined individual with analytical skills; capability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Works well under pressure; flexible work style
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Workday ideal.

The minimum base salary for this role is $100,000 if located in New York.  This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting.  This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation.  This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions.  Successful candidates' compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
