Position Overview

Join our dedicated team at Bedford Healthcare Center as a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor. This remote position offers you the unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of your clients through effective therapy and intervention strategies. You'll be an essential part of our mission to provide compassionate and comprehensive mental health services, helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys.

About the Organization

At Bedford Healthcare Center, located in Fresno, California, we specialize in delivering high-quality outpatient behavioral health services. Our facilities are designed to foster a supportive and therapeutic environment. We emphasize a recovery-oriented wellness model that prioritizes restoring emotional, cognitive, and social health through individualized treatment plans. Our skilled clinicians provide services ranging from individual and group therapy to substance abuse assessments and intervention.

Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility and a comfortable work-life balance. Our team operates predominantly during weekdays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. As a remote counselor, you will have access to our digital platforms for client management and communication, fostering seamless connectivity with both clients and the interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing compassionate counseling and crisis intervention to patients experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify the psychological needs of your clients and developing tailored treatment plans accordingly.
  • Documenting clinical and progress notes meticulously and promptly, in compliance with departmental policies, ensuring accurate patient records.
  • Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient progress, address concerns, and initiate treatment adjustments as necessary.
  • Engaging with community resource leaders and advocating for our patientsโ€™ social needs by attending meetings and representing Bedford Healthcare Center in relevant committees.
  • Facilitating group therapy sessions that incorporate evidence-based methodologies to foster participation and healing among clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele primarily consists of individuals dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other emotional disorders. We focus on creating personalized treatment plans that honor the unique backgrounds and experiences of each patient, making it essential for you to understand diverse client perspectives and integrate culturally-responsive practices in your counseling.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
  • An independent license such as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional clinical experience in a mental health setting.
Preferred Experience

While the minimum qualifications are required, candidates with experience in outpatient mental health services, familiarity with substance abuse treatment, or expertise in crisis intervention will be prioritized. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems is also a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer a competitive benefits package, including:

  • 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
  • Dental and health insurance coverage.
  • Disability and life insurance options.
  • An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental health and financial wellness support.
  • Generous paid time off to promote work-life balance and self-care.

At Bedford Healthcare Center, we believe in investing in our staff's professional development. We provide opportunities for continuing education, training workshops, and potential pathways for advancement within the organization. Your growth as a clinician contributes not only to your personal fulfillment but also enhances the overall efficacy of our mental health programs.
