  • Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, customized for individual patients, while considering their cultural and personal contexts.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing various mental health concerns, enhancing well-being, and promoting resilience.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary and offer immediate support during mental health emergencies.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources, fostering an informed and empowered patient community.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient interactions, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
  • Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency training sessions to continually enhance service delivery.
  • Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and specific cultural considerations pertinent to mental health therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as a Mental Health Therapist will involve working primarily with a diverse group of individuals, including those from ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations. By applying culturally sensitive approaches, you will contribute to creating an inclusive therapeutic atmosphere that fosters trust and open communication, crucial for effective mental health care.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in Maryland (LCSW, LPC, LCPC, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to engage and build rapport with a diverse client base.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, especially concerning cultural competence.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a telehealth setting is highly desirable, allowing you to navigate virtual engagements effectively.
  • Prior experience working with multicultural populations, particularly in outpatient settings.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies appropriate for diverse clients.
