Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
• Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, goals, and preferences.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate effective treatment.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
• Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapeutic approaches.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities as a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Advocate for clients' mental health needs and work to alleviate the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients dealing with various mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will work with a diverse population, including individuals from vulnerable groups such as homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving their mental well-being and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, ensuring a solid educational foundation for clinical practice.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build a trusting relationship with clients.
• Empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental approach to clients' experiences to foster a supportive therapeutic environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage caseloads and administrative duties.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
