Job description

Spiva Cooking | Bremerton, WA

30+ Hours Per Week | In Person

Join Us in Waging War Against Bland

At Spiva Cooking, we create bold, creative food products designed to bring people together around the table.

We’re a small and growing company, and we’re looking for someone who wants to become a meaningful, long-term part of our team and culture.

This isn’t a role where you’ll stay in one lane. It’s equal parts high-energy sales, customer experience, and hands-on production. One day you may be selling and connecting with customers; the next you may be packaging products, fulfilling a large order, preparing for an event, or jumping in wherever the business needs you.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

For the right person who consistently demonstrates reliability, initiative, leadership, and strong performance, our hope is that this position can grow into greater responsibility and opportunity as Spiva Cooking continues to grow.

What You’ll DoSales & Customer Experience
  • Create a warm, energetic experience for every customer.
  • Learn our products and confidently help customers discover what they’ll love.
  • Actively sell and recommend products rather than simply running a register.
  • Represent Spiva Cooking at festivals, markets, demos, and community events.
  • Help turn first-time customers into long-term Spiva customers.
Production & Fulfillment
  • Package and label our handcrafted spice blends, teas, and other products accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and fulfill retail, online, and wholesale orders.
  • Stock products and maintain organized inventory.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, accuracy, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Prepare products and materials for markets, events, and large orders.
Be Part of Building the Business
  • Jump between sales, production, fulfillment, stocking, events, cleaning, and other priorities as needed.
  • Look for what needs to be done rather than always waiting to be asked.
  • Learn how different parts of our business operate.
  • Bring ideas, energy, and a willingness to improve.
  • Take on additional responsibility as your skills, performance, and understanding of the business grow.
  • Contribute positively to the team and the culture we’re building.

  • Who We’re Looking For

The perfect resume matters less to us than finding the right person.

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Is naturally comfortable talking with people and enjoys selling.
    • Is dependable and does what they say they’ll do.
    • Works hard and brings positive energy to the team.
    • Can work quickly without sacrificing attention to detail.
    • Takes genuine pride in doing excellent work.
    • Is willing to learn, receive feedback, and continually improve.
    • Can move comfortably between customer-facing sales and focused production work.
    • Takes initiative and notices what needs attention.
    • Wants responsibility rather than avoiding it.
    • Cares about being a great teammate.
    • Is interested in finding a place where they can contribute for the long term and grow as the company grows.

    Schedule

This position will generally be 30+ hours per week.

Hours may fluctuate based on production needs, seasonal demand, festivals, markets, and other events. Some weeks may be higher and some may be lower.

    Some weekend availability is required.

    Physical & Transportation Requirements
    • Reliable transportation to our Bremerton location and local off-site events.
    • Ability to safely transport products and event materials when needed.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
    • Comfortable working in an active environment that can move quickly during busy periods.

    Our Culture

Our values are Excellence, Hospitality, Integrity, Creativity, Learning, and Perseverance.

    We take those seriously.

We want people on our team who care about the quality of their work, treat customers and teammates well, keep their commitments, remain curious, solve problems, and keep pushing when things get difficult.

Every new team member begins with a 90-day introductory period. During that time, we’ll provide feedback, help you learn the business, and make sure the fit is right on both sides.

An Opportunity to Grow With Us

We’re not looking for someone who simply wants their next job.

We hope to find someone who can become an important part of Spiva Cooking for years to come.

As the company grows, new responsibilities and opportunities will grow with it. Someone who proves they can perform, take ownership, solve problems, and help the people around them succeed will have the opportunity to take on more.

We can't promise exactly what that path will look like — but we want to hire someone capable of growing beyond the position we're hiring for today.
