Job description

Job Title: Custodian w/ Floor Maintenance
Department: Custodial - Operations (CFL)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 25 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services.
Spectrum Management is seeking a Custodian for primary cleaning responsibilities as well as providing overnight floor cleaning/maintenance coverage for high traffic areas in one of our key locations in Washington, D.C.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must be available to work standard shift: Sunday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
    • Role is also responsible for providing overnight (11:00 pm - 7:30 am) floor cleaning/maintenance coverage intermittently as needed. Floor duties include:
      • Utilizing commercial floor maintenance equipment to perform floor care duties.
      • Cleaning assigned carpeted areas using appropriate techniques and equipment.
      • Buffing, waxing and polishing floors as needed to maintain condition and environment.
      • Sweeping, dusting, mopping and clearing facility spaces as assigned.
  • Follows and completes the facility's daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule as assigned by Custodial Supervisor.
  • Collects and disposes of all facility garbage, disinfecting receptacles as appropriate.
  • Washes bathroom, kitchen, classroom and other windows (inside and outside) and walls as scheduled or needed.
  • Vacuums all carpeting daily.
  • Performs other cleaning duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 3 years experience in the custodial field.
  • General applicable knowledge of professional cleaning methods.
  • Floor Maintenance experience including buffering, stripping and waxing with proper equipment maintenance required.
  • MS Office Suite (Outlook/email) basic experience required.
  • Must be able to comply with all required site background checks, including fingerprints.
  • Successful experience working effectively in a team environment.
