Job description

Customer Success Manager

Arable is seeking a Customer Success Manager to support growers and agricultural partners throughout Southern California. This role is responsible for the overall customer experience—from initial implementation and field installation through training, ongoing support, product adoption, and long-term relationship management. You will work closely with customers to understand their operations, help them get meaningful value from Arable's technology, and ensure they have a knowledgeable and responsive partner throughout the relationship.

The ideal candidate combines practical agricultural knowledge, customer success experience, technical aptitude, and strong relationship-building skills. You should be comfortable working in the field, discussing irrigation and crop-management practices, and communicating confidently with growers, farm managers, consultants, and project partners.

At Arable, our mission is to connect the world's farms to optimize the global food system. As agriculture faces the dual challenge of feeding a growing population while conserving natural resources, we provide the data and insights that help farmers use water more efficiently and make better-informed crop-management decisions. By digitizing the analog world, we empower producers to improve productivity, protect water resources, and strengthen resilience across their operations.

As a Customer Success Manager, you will be a key member of Arable's Customer Success team and a primary point of contact for growers and project partners throughout the region. You will manage the customer relationship across the full lifecycle, including implementation, onboarding, training, field support, ongoing adoption, and issue resolution. You will also help customers interpret Arable's data and understand how it can support better irrigation, crop-management, and operational decisions.

Many of the projects you support may involve multiple stakeholders, including growers, farm managers, consultants, irrigation specialists, commercial partners, and other organizations. You will need to build credibility across these groups, communicate clearly, and serve as a dependable resource who can help move projects forward.

This is a hands-on, field-oriented role that combines customer success, agricultural expertise, technical support, and relationship management.

  • Manage the customer experience from implementation and onboarding through ongoing adoption, support, and renewal.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with growers, farm managers, agricultural partners, and other project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support the installation, setup, monitoring, and maintenance of Arable field devices.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on regional agriculture, irrigation practices, and water-use efficiency.
  • Understand each customer's goals, challenges, and operating environment, and tailor support accordingly.
  • Conduct regular customer check-ins, field visits, project reviews, and training sessions.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns, coordinating with internal teams when additional technical or product support is required.
  • Drive customer adoption, satisfaction, retention, and long-term value.
  • Gather customer feedback and share field insights with Arable's Product, Agronomy, Engineering, Commercial, and Customer Success teams.
  • Help identify opportunities to expand Arable's value within existing customer relationships and projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer activities, project progress, risks, and follow-up actions.
  • Travel regularly throughout the Southern California territory, with periodic overnight travel to Lodi and occasional travel to other Arable locations.

You're a Great Fit If You Have:

  • Experience in customer success, account management, agricultural consulting, farm operations, irrigation management, agtech, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Strong familiarity with agriculture and the ability to communicate knowledgeably about irrigation and crop-management practices.
  • The ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with growers.
  • Strong communication, training, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple customers, projects, stakeholders, and priorities.
  • A hands-on working style and comfort spending time in agricultural field environments.
  • Willingness to travel frequently throughout the region, approximately 25–40%, with occasional overnight travel.
  • Comfort safely accessing irrigation equipment or working at moderate heights when required, following all safety procedures.
  • A bachelor's degree in agronomy, agriculture, crop science, irrigation, agricultural engineering, business, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
  • A genuine interest in helping customers succeed and advancing more efficient, sustainable agricultural practices.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary with performance incentives
  • Excellent health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible paid time off and company holidays
  • Career-development and professional-growth opportunities
  • The opportunity to work directly with growers and leading agricultural partners
  • A chance to make a meaningful impact on the sustainability, water efficiency, and productivity of agriculture
