Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and delivery of complex commercial construction projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Serving as the senior project leader and primary client contact, the Senior Project Manager oversees the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through closeout, with accountability for financial performance, schedule, contracts, risk, quality, and client satisfaction. This role provides leadership to project teams, anticipates and resolves challenges, mentors developing staff, and drives consistent execution across all assigned projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex or high-value commercial projects with full accountability for budget, schedule, safety, quality, and client satisfaction
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and financial reporting; identify risks and opportunities and protect project profitability
  • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and recovery plans while ensuring alignment between office and field teams
  • Partner with Superintendents to establish project execution, safety, schedule, logistics, and quality control plans and resolve project roadblocks
  • Lead pre-construction efforts, including proposals, RFPs, constructability review, buyout strategy, value engineering, and project turnover
  • Direct procurement, bid leveling, scope review, negotiations, subcontract awards, and subcontractor performance and compliance
  • Oversee project controls, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, cost tracking, contract compliance, and project documentation
  • Serve as a senior client-facing leader; lead owner and design-team meetings, manage expectations, resolve escalated issues, and strengthen relationships
  • Proactively manage contractual, financial, schedule, and operational risks and elevate critical issues with recommended solutions
  • Direct project closeout and final financial reconciliation, including punch lists, warranties, turnover documentation, and contractual deliverables
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators/Administrators; delegate effectively, reinforce company standards, and support continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years of progressive commercial construction experience with successful full-cycle management of complex projects
  • Advanced knowledge of contract administration, project accounting, procurement, cost control, scheduling, and construction risk management
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to develop staff and lead cross-functional project teams
  • Excellent executive-level communication, client relationship, negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite; Procore experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated strategic judgment, accountability, and urgency with the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure
