Locations: Sussex County

Are you passionate about helping others and making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with autism? Autism Delaware is seeking compassionate, dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with autism as they achieve their goals and thrive in their communities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with individuals with autism.
  • Advocate for full community integration and assist individuals in achieving independence.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, following individualized Person-Centered Plans.
  • Support individuals with their employment, social, and recreational activities.
  • Monitor progress, document behaviors, and report any concerns.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Maintain safety and compliance with State and Autism Delaware regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and up-to-date auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and driving record reviews.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and best practices (preferred, but not required).
  • Patience, flexibility, and a desire to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, and lift.
