Solutions Engineer @ Maxima

Nobody went into accounting to spend the first week of every month matching transactions by hand. Maxima was built so they don't have to. Our agents do the accounting work itself: journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis, in real time and to SOX standards. Accountants review and approve. Maxima is the first agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting. Our founders oversaw the finance org at Rubrik and built the month-end close systems at Twitter and Netflix. When a controller asks exactly how Maxima would work across their entities, their ERPs, and their workflows, you are the person with the answer. As a Solutions Engineer, you will be the trusted technical advisor to our customers and the Account Executives' closest partner: leading deep technical discovery, designing enterprise-grade solutions, and delivering demos that connect what the agents do to outcomes a finance team cares about.

The role sits where technology, finance, and customer storytelling meet. You will spend your days with controllers, finance systems teams, and IT, and carry what you learn back to Product and Engineering, so that Maxima keeps meeting the needs of the most complex enterprises.

• Partner with Account Executives on technical discovery and product demonstrations for enterprise prospects

• Design solutions that map Maxima to complex accounting environments with multiple entities, ERPs, and workflows

• Lead in-depth discussions with controllers, finance systems, and IT teams to uncover requirements, data challenges, and integration needs

• Work with Product and Engineering to scope integration approaches across systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and Workday

• Configure demo and sandbox environments that replicate customer use cases

• Act as the bridge between Sales, Product, and Implementation, from demo to deployment

• Relay feedback from enterprise customers to influence product strategy and roadmap priorities

• Stay current on AI, automation, and enterprise finance systems
  

• 5 to 8 years in a solutions engineering or solutions consulting role in enterprise SaaS

• Deep understanding of accounting operations or financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Workday

• Experience supporting enterprise customers in multi-entity, multi-currency, or SOX-compliant environments

• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven business conversations

• Strong presentation and communication skills, comfortable with CFOs, controllers, and technical stakeholders

• Familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, and workflow automation tools

• Curiosity about AI and automation, and a desire to learn how they apply in finance
  

This role is based in our San Mateo office. We value in-person collaboration and are in office four to five days a week for our on-site roles.
