Job description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students in a vibrant school environment. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) begins at the start of the 2026-2027 academic year and continues through early June, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in students' educational journeys. Work closely with 1-2 students at a time, interpreting in various classroom and school settings. Flexible arrangements are available for the ideal candidate, with openings for both onsite and virtual service delivery.

Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally within an educational environment
  • Strong understanding of Deaf/Hard of Hearing student needs in school-based settings
  • Experience with American Sign Language (ASL) and professional interpreting standards
  • Comfortable collaborating across grade levels and with a diverse educational team
  • Ability to adapt to varying caseload assignments throughout the school day
  • Credentialing suitable for school-based interpreting in the state

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality sign language interpretation for students during instructional and school activities
  • Facilitate effective communication and support student engagement
