Solace Haven Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor at Solace Haven Counseling, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a variety of essential tasks:

• Conduct initial assessments to evaluate each client’s mental health status, history, and specific needs.
• Design individualized therapy plans that may include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, or other evidence-based practices tailored to the client's unique situation.
• Regularly meet with clients to monitor progress, reassess mental health status, and adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
• Provide psychoeducation and therapeutic tools to support clients in developing coping strategies and skills to navigate their challenges.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that focus on building community and shared experiences among participants.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and treatment plans in compliance with organizational policies and HIPAA regulations.
• Provide referrals to additional healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, when clients require medication management or specialized support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on diverse individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and eating disorders. This role demands a high level of cultural competence, enabling you to connect with clients from various backgrounds and provide therapy that respects their unique experiences and perspectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A minimum of two years of direct counseling experience in a clinical setting.
• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver individual and group therapy in a culturally responsive manner.
• Proficient crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with the following experiences will be considered advantageous:

• Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual therapy sessions.
• Background in community mental health or outpatient settings.
• Familiarity with using EHR systems and managing documentation efficiently.
• A history of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
