Job description

🚀 Are you ready to build and lead a U.S. legal function from the ground up in a highly regulated, high-growth iGaming environment?

Soft2Bet, a fast-growing iGaming and sports betting technology group, is seeking a Head of Legal to lead its U.S. legal operations in Fort Lee, NJ. This is a true builder role for a strategic, hands-on legal leader who can partner closely with business leadership while navigating gaming regulation, employment law, corporate governance, and commercial transactions.

📍 Location: Fort Lee, NJ (100% On-site)

Work Mode: Full-time, office-based only (no remote/hybrid)

🛠️ The Role

As Head of Legal, you will serve as the primary legal architect for the U.S. entity, reporting directly to the General Counsel and supporting Soft2Bet’s growth across New Jersey and the broader U.S. market. You’ll own a broad portfolio of legal and compliance responsibilities, with a focus on building scalable frameworks that keep the business protected, operationally sound, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

🚀 What You’ll Do

  • Lead contract lifecycle management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating MSAs, vendor agreements, and IP licensing deals.
  • Own regulatory and gaming compliance, including interactions with the New Jersey DGE and CCC, plus corporate and key employee licensing.
  • Support HR and employment matters, including employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and NJ payroll and labor compliance.
  • Oversee legal aspects of office leasing, expansion, and facilities matters as the company’s U.S. footprint grows.
  • Drive corporate governance, including filings, resolutions, and internal policies to maintain good standing for the U.S. entity.
  • Build and enforce internal compliance frameworks aligned with Casino Key Employee standards.
  • Manage outside counsel for specialized litigation, IP, and regulatory matters.

🎯 What We’re Looking For

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active U.S. bar license; New Jersey bar admission or eligibility to register as In-House Counsel in NJ is required.
  • 7–10 years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within a startup or high-growth tech environment.
  • Broad legal experience across employment law, commercial contracts, and real estate.
  • iGaming industry experience is required, with sports betting exposure strongly preferred; familiarity with the Casino Control Act is a major plus.
  • Low-ego, business-oriented judgment, high integrity, and comfort operating in a Casino Key Employee environment.

Preferred

  • Prior experience working with New Jersey gaming regulators and licensing processes.
  • Experience building legal and compliance functions in a scaling U.S. business.
  • Background supporting cross-functional leadership on commercial, regulatory, and employment matters.

💎 Why Join Soft2Bet?

  • Bonuses: Discretionary, performance-based
  • Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision + 401(k)
  • Time Off: Generous PTO policy
  • Perks: Partially subsidized in-office breakfasts and lunches
  • Culture: Collaborative, international team that celebrates milestones and wins together
  • Growth: Professional development and ownership within a scaling organization
