Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist โ Clinical Laboratory
Overview
The Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist supports the daily operations of a clinical laboratory by performing technical, quality assurance, and administrative functions. Working under the direction of a laboratory supervisor, this role provides operational oversight, supports laboratory leadership, performs complex laboratory testing, and assists with special projects to ensure efficient and compliant laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing using professional knowledge and sound judgment.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned laboratory division.
- Support supervisors and managers with operational and quality initiatives.
- Perform quality assurance, technical, clerical, and administrative duties.
- Monitor laboratory processes to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Assist with workflow coordination and problem resolution.
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to support efficient and effective operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License or an applicable California specialty laboratory scientist license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting laboratory operations and team objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification.
Compensation
- Hourly pay: $64.67 โ $102.10, depending on experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors.
