Snelling Staffing is looking for multiple experienced cooks and cafeteria technicians in the
Baton Rouge region and surrounding areas including Plaquemine, Port Allen, Gonzales, and New Roads. Our clients are looking for employees for the upcoming school year beginning in August with training beginning immediately! These positions are only for 10 months of the year and will be a 35-hour work week working from roughly 6:00am-1:00pm. Pay will be in the range of $16-$17 per hour.
PRIOR TO APPLYING, applicants MUST have previous kitchen experience including knowledge for proper food handling and storage, portion control, ability to read and replicate recipes accurately, and ability to operate basic cafeteria equipment.
Essential Duties:- Prepare food using standardized recipes, accurate measurements, and proper food preparation techniques
- Clean and maintain safe and sanitary kitchen and equipment by performing regular equipment maintenance
- Accurately report and document amount of food used and left over
- Receive and date food supply deliveries and put away inventory in storage area(s)
- Foster a harmonious team environment by assisting coworkers when needed
- Interact positively with students, faculty, and school administration
Position Requirements- Prior kitchen and cafeteria experience is REQUIRED
- Knowledge of Basic Math including how to exchange currency and extend recipes
- Oral and written English communications skills
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions regarding recipes and warnings
- MUST be able to stand for long periods of time and lift objects up to 25 pounds
