Slows Bar Bq opened in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, in 2005. 20 years later Slows operates that original flagship location, Carryout & Catering restaurant Slows To Go in Detroit's Midtown, as well as Slows Bar Bq Ann Arbor and Slows Bar Bq Berkley. Slows also has a food truck and runs gameday stands inside Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesars Arena.
Slows Bar Bq is seeking a Food Truck Driver and Supervisor to manage mobile operations during the summer season. This role requires a combination of commercial driving precision, staff supervision, and customer service management.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving & Logistics: Safe operation and navigation to and from scheduled events.
- Supervision: Oversee truck staff and daily operations to ensure efficiency and brand standards.
- Service & Sales: Manage the cash register/POS system and interface directly with guests.
- Culinary (Preferred): Proficiency as a cook is preferred; however, candidates focused on management and front-of-house operations will be considered.
- Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle and service areas are kept clean and meet health safety regulations.
- Safety: Perform daily safety checks on all equipment
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have an impeccable driving record
- Prior food truck experience required
- Previous experience driving large delivery vehicles and or box trucks is required
- Strong interpersonal and cusotmer service skills
- Exemplary time management and organizational skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
