SledgeView Consulting is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a mission-driven organization serving the Central Ohio community.

As the Communications Manager, you will partner closely with the executive leader to design and deliver communications strategies that amplify our mission, strengthen staff engagement, support development initiatives, and prepare executives for external presentations. This role requires creativity, digital fluency, and strong project management skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in communications or a related role, with a track record of ownership and results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft content for multiple audiences.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, Generative AI, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Sprout Social, SurveyMonkey, Mailchimp, and/or other content management system platforms.
  • Experience preparing presentations and talking points for executives or senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with communications best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal and Development Communications

  • Manage internal communications, including staff updates, newsletters, and engagement campaigns.
  • Draft clear, compelling content for internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with mission, values, and strategic plan.
  • Partner with the Development department to create donor-focused communications, including newsletters, campaign messaging, stewardship content, and event materials (e.g., thank-you templates, donor welcome packets, annual donor survey, social media spotlights).

Digital and Social Media Strategy

  • Manage the organization's digital presence, including websites, intranet, podcast, and social media platforms.
  • Develop campaigns that increase brand presence, engagement, and visibility across multimedia channels.
  • Manage web and social media content that supports fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, and digital recognition for major donors and partners.
  • Track performance using analytics and adapt strategy based on insights.

Executive Support

  • Prepare presentations, speeches, and talking points for executives and board members.
  • Create professional slide decks and messaging guides for external presentations and donor events.
  • Support leadership with consistent, aligned communications.

Event Communications

  • Lead communications for annual meeting and key development events.
  • Coordinate event materials, messaging, and follow-up communications.
  • Ensure internal staff is informed and engaged around major organizational events.

Project Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of communication projects from concept through completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, timely communications.
  • Manage consultants, interns, and vendors as needed.
  • Oversee production of donor impact mailings and campaign collateral in partnership with Development staff.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor tone and style for different audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of digital media management tools, conversion rate optimization, and analytics platforms.
  • Strong design sensibility for presentations and digital content.
  • Strong ability to translate organizational impact into compelling donor journeys across print, digital, and event platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once.
